TIE RAILROAD, PLASTIC RAILROAD TIE, IMPERVIOUS TO BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS, SURFACE DETERIORATION DUE TO ABRASION SURFACE DEGRADATION DUE TO UV LIGHT EXPOSURE, Salient Characteristics: 1. Appearance: Textured and Black 2. Density (lbs per cubic foot): 55 - 70 3. Weight (lbs): 185-320 4. Modulus of Elasticity (MOE), Min: 170,000 psi 5. Modulus of Rupture (MOR), Min: 2,000 psi 6. Rail seat compression, Min: 900 psi 7. Surface hardness, new: 7,800 lbs to push a 2" diameter steel ball 0.25" into surface of the tie 8. Spike insertion pressure: 7,200 lbs 9.
