- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Ames Research Center (ARC) is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, including Small, Small Disadvantaged (SDB), 8(a), Woman-owned (WOSB), Veteran Owned (VOSB), Service Disabled Veteran Owned (SD-VOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) businesses, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)/Minority Institutions (MI) for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small business subcontracting goals for one (1) Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) that will supply power to the Embedded GPS/ Inertial Navigation (EGI) and Inertial Navigation Unit (INU) onboard an Army research helicopter. The Government reserves the right to consider a Small, 8(a), Woman-owned (WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran (SD-VOSB), or HUBZone business set-aside based on responses hereto. The NASA/ARC requirements for the UPS include the following: 1. Military ruggedized with a 1U form factor and 22" depth. 2. Two (2) hour charge time from 10% to 90%. 3. Battery run time greater than 10 minutes at 80% load. 4. Dual output max continuous: 1- 750Watts 115Volt AC 400 HZ, 2nd output-28VDC 500Watts. 5. Dual input: 1- 28VDC up to 65 Amps, 2nd input 115V AC 60 Hz 6. Double conversion device - No dropout or droop when switching inputs or to internal battery The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 335999, All Other Miscellaneous Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; average annual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-owned, Veteran Owned, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Historically Underutilized Business Zone and/or Historically Black Colleges and Universities)/Minority Institutions. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps.
