REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) Department of Veterans Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System Grand Island VA Medical Center Grand Island, NE THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY: This request is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal, a Solicitation, a Request for Quote or, or an indication that the Government will award a contract for the items contained in this RFI. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this request. The Government does not reimburse respondents for any costs associated with submission of the information being requested or, reimburse expenses incurred for responses to this RFI. Companies are encouraged to respond only if they have the capability and capacity to provide the items identified below. SCOPE OF WORK: The VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System (NWIHCS) has a requirement to correct domestic water deficiencies at the Grand Island VA Medical Center located at 2201 North Broadwell Avenue, Grand Island, NE 68803. Work will include, but will not be limited to, general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, necessary demolition and removal of existing structures and certain other items necessary to: (1) Install hot water temperature and other water chemistry monitoring devices which report back to the Energy Management Control System (EMCS); (2) Balance hot water recirculating system, ensuring proper pump and pipe sizes; and (3) Installation of mixing valves/faucets/scald proof devices on all hot water discharge locations throughout buildings 1, 3 and 5. Please see attached drawings and specifications for further project information.
