- Project Site Map W912HV-17-Z-0003 Sources Sought Market Survey Yokohama North Dock Maintenance Dredging, Yokohama, Japan Introduction: The Japan District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been tasked to perform market research and solicit the interest of prospective offeror(s) for a potential fiscal year (FY) 2017 project entitled, "Yokohama North Dock Maintenance Dredging, Yokohama, Japan". This announcement constitutes a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE and will ONLY be used for preliminary planning purposes. The intent of this notice is to gauge interest, capabilities and experience of members of the Dredging Community to identify sources capable of performing the required work and assist in the Government's acquisition planning. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. The Government will not pay for any information provided in response to this notice. This market survey is intended for local sources only. Local sources are those sources physically located and licensed to conduct business in Japan. Firms interested and capable of performing this work are highly encouraged to submit a response. Project Information Project Title: Yokohama North Dock Maintenance Dredging Project Location: Yokohama, Japan Project NAICS: 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction Project Magnitude: Between ¥1,000,000,000 and ¥2,500,000,000 (Japanese YEN) Project Description: The subject requirement is inclusive of maintenance dredging and subsequent disposal of approximately 50,000 cubic meters of dredge sediments within the U.S. Exclusive Use Area (EUA) in the v-shaped turning basin and wet storage area at Yokohama North Dock located in Kanagawa, Japan. The turning basin shall be dredged to a depth of (-) 5.0 meters while the wet storage area shall be dredged to a depth of (-) 5.6 meters. All dredged material shall be disposed of at either the Yokosuka Ise-Cho Disposal Facility or other available land reclamation sites. Incidental work is inclusive of but not limited to conducting hydrographic surveys to verify dredging depths, Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) identification/clearing, turbidity monitoring and environmental species monitoring. Procurement Method: The Japan District will use information gathered from this market survey to determine the procurement method. Note: Any solicitations pursued will be intended for local sources only. See information in the Introduction section of this announcement regarding local sources. ========================================================= Responses to this Synopsis shall include the following: 1. Name of your company, address, phone number, email, CAGE code and point of contact (POC) name. 2. Provide a narrative describing your firm's capability and experience relative to the work described above. Please provide information on construction projects of comparable scope, complexity and magnitude (for government or commercial customers) which have been completed within the past 10 years. The narrative should include: (a) Type of equipment which would be used for the following activities: 1. Dredging 50,000 cubic meters of sediments at Yokohama North Dock 2. Transporting sediments from Yokohama North Dock to the reclamation site in Yokosuka. Note: If another location is preferred, please cite the location and equipment to be utilized for transport 3. Transporting sediments from Yokohama North Dock to an upland disposal site, please specify any dewatering methods that would be used prior to sediment disposal (b) Current construction completion percentage and the date on which it was or will be completed (c) Scope and size of project (relative to that described above) (d) Dollar value of the project (e) Portion and/or percentage of work which was self-performed (f) Whether or not the project was designated as a design-build 3. Describe your firm's level of interest relative to all aspects of the work. 4. Identify your current construction bonding levels: (a) Per contract (b) Aggregate contract bonding level 5. Any comments that will increase your level of interest and participation in this project. 6. If we solicit this project as a Design-Bid-Build (D-B-B) construction project instead of Design-Build (D-B) construction project, will it change your interest level of this project? If it changes your interest level, please specify your preference and reason. Note: The Government is particularly interested in firms with experience with dredging, sediment disposal and related work, and the specialized experience commercial industry has to offer.
