Specific Requirements The Government is seeking to identify contractors that are capable of satisfying the following minimum requirements: The below identifies the minimum specification for a modular, reconfigurable and expandable work bench system that would be utilized in highly flexible electronics repair and overhaul facility at TYAD. The work bench desired would be part of comprehensive work bench system that allows the base bench to be customized through add-ons, reconfigured and/or expanded with additional components when required. Listed below are the minimum specifications for ergonomic workbenches, add-on benches, and rolling cabinets which would serve as an integral part of the "workbench system". 1. WORKBENCH: Mechanical -Work Surface Type- (~1.75" thick hardwood butcher block with non-conductive finish). -Work Surface Size- ~(36" X 84"). -Hardware used to mount the work surface MUST NOT penetrate the top of the work surface (NO path for metal to protrude through work surface). -Work Surface Height- 34" nominal*. Manually adjustable from ~30" to ~40" in approximately one inch increments via slots and pins.*NOTE: nominal height is intended to be exact with no variation in height compared with the Mobile Bench, Mobile Cabinet and Common Tools Cabinet (Described below). -Frame type...Full frame with four legs, with adjustable feet on each leg. -Riser/Riser Capacity- 150 lbs. min, ~18" deep, rounded front edge, height from floor not to exceed 56".Riser will be mounted to create a ~2" overhang at the rear (See Drawings). -Riser will have at least three ~2" diameter holes for electrical cord pass-throughs. Holes should be centered ~2 ½" from the rear edge. The edges of holes will be protected with plastic/rubber grommets or similar protection device(s). Deflection in riser should be less than 1/8 inch when measured from the work surface at the center point under 150 lb. load. -Riser Shelf to be static dissipative plastic laminate, or other static dissipative material that will support the minimum weight above. -Riser supports to be painted to match base bench. -Some sort of Footrest with adjustable height, tilt (angle) and fore/aft positioning. -Modesty Panels. One mounted on the riser, one mounted on the base. Purpose is to hide wires/cables, and provide good/consistent aesthetic appearance. Electrical -Two separate 120 VAC, 20 Amp, 60 Hz circuits. -One circuit shall have four Standard 20 Amp duplex outlets and one GFCI (GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPT) duplex outlet wired in parallel. Note: GFCI is not intended to protect other devices in the circuit. -One circuit will have one duplex outlet with separate isolated ground. -All duplex outlets shall be mounted in a horizontal power trough, (3000 channel-mold or equivalent) mounted to the rear of the riser 4 inches above the work surface. (See attached TYAD drawings for concept) -All devices utilizing isolated ground shall be color coded orange. -Each bench shall have three labels -Label one "NO HIGH VOLTAGE WORK AT THIS WORK STATION" affixed to front of the riser. -Label two "120 VOLT 60 HZ" affixed to the power trough/channel mold. -Label three "ORANGE OUTLET for ISOLATED GROUND ONLY DO NOT CONNECT to ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GROUND (GREEN WIRE)"affixed to the power trough/channel mold adjacent to the isolated ground outlet. -Power connections -Power connection shall be accomplished through two separate rubber cords (Type SJOOW 12/3 AWG, 8 feet long), one cord for each circuit with twist-lock plugs for final connections (Leviton 2310). Cord used for isolated ground shall be labeled "FOR USE WITH ISOLATED GROUND ONLY" utilizing shrink wrap and plug will be colored coded orange. -Power Adapters. -Each power cord will have a removable adapter cord that converts the twist-lock plug (Leviton 2310) to a standard duplex plug. Adapter for standard power will have black plug/receptacle and the isolated ground circuit will have orange plug/receptacle. Adapter cord will be Type SJOOW 12/3 AWG 18 inches long. Electrical Daisy Chain -Power daisy chain capability is required for each bench. -Each of the bench circuits will be parallel wired to two twist lock receptacles (Leviton 2310 for the standard power circuit and Leviton 2310-IG (orange) for the isolated ground circuit). One standard power circuit and one isolated ground circuit at each end of the bench mounted under the work surface. Outlets will be mounted facing inward in a position that allows the modesty panel to conceal electrical connections. Lighting -No overhead lighting is required. Grounding -All metal components will be bonded to electrical system ground. -Isolated Ground will not be connected or bonded in any way except to the isolated ground system. -Two ground blocks required for ESD (Electro Static Discharge) bonded to electrical system ground will be mounted directly on the work surface (location TBD). Emergency/Safety Disconnect Two pole contactor with push button actuator wired in series with a maintained mushroom button. The mushroom button will be colored red, be at least 60 mm in diameter, mounted in yellow housing and labelled, "Emergency Stop". E-stop will be mounted outside the operator's normal work space on the riser, left justified to allow operation by others during an emergency without entering the hazard area. Ancillary Items -Articulating Arm for Mouse, Keyboard and Monitor (MKM) Combination. -Monitor section will have tilt capability and be capable of accepting a 22" monitor. -Keyboard section must be capable of accepting mouse on either side, will be adjustable vertically and have an ergonomic wrist rest incorporated. -The MKM will be mounted to the riser/shelf section as far right as possible and will not protrude beyond the end line of the bench or any location that will prevent benches from being located adjacent and abutted (in direct contact) with one another. -Computer Tower caddy capable of securing different size and type CPUs. -The Computer Tower Caddy will be mounted below the work surface on the right side, directly below the MKM. -Mounting bracket for articulating task light/magnifier -Task light mounting bracket will accept a.5 inch shaft -Task light mounting bracket will be mounted to the top surface of the riser in a manner that will not interfere with benches being placed adjacent with zero space. 2. EXTENDER ~(36") Bench -The EXTENDER Work Surface Add-On that will permit benches to be connected at in-line without loss to the existing work surface or work space. -The EXTENDER will have the same physical requirements as the base bench. Example: Same work surface depth, same riser characteristics, same material and height adjustability. -Work Surface Add-Ons will have less than a 1/8 inch gap at the connection points. 3. 90 DEGREE CORNER CONNECTOR Bench -The 90 DEGREE CORNER CONNECTOR Work Surface Add-On that will permit benches to be connected at 90 degrees without loss to the existing work surface or work space. -Add-ons will have the same physical requirements as the base bench. Example: Same work surface depth, same riser characteristics, same material and height adjustability. -Work Surface Add-Ons will have less than a 1/8 inch gap at the connection points. 4. ~48" Rolling Cabinet "~48 inch Rolling Cabinet" Requirements -Lockable Storage -One full length lockable drawer ~6 in deep -Storage Compartment below with lockable double doors and adjustable shelving. -Work Surface -Work Surface Material...~1.75 in thick hardwood butcher block. -Work Surface Size....~48" including one inch overhang on each side by 36 inches deep.
