Description
Pre-solicitation notice Please note this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States in Madrid will launch the solicitation on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website when it is available. The Embassy of the United States in Madrid will issue a solicitation for packing, freight handling, forwarding, cargo storage, customs clearance and other related services that apply to shipments originating from, consigned to, routed through, and/or moved within the geographic area(s) of Madrid city and Madrid province. The annual estimated weight of packing and shipping services to be performed is 60,000 pounds net. These requirements may change depending on funding availability in forth coming periods. Anticipated performance is for one base period and four one-year periods at the option of the Government. Major duties and responsibilities are: The Contractor shall provide services for the United States Mission, Madrid, Spain as described. This consists of packing, freight handling, forwarding, cargo storage, customs clearance and other related services that apply to shipments originating from, consigned to, routed through, and/or moved within the geographic area(s) of Madrid city and Madrid province. The contractor shall furnish all managerial, administrative, direct labor personnel, materials and transportation that are necessary to accomplish all work as required by this contract. Contractor employees shall be on site only for performance of contractual duties and not for other business purposes. The contractor shall provide a qualified work force capable of providing the services specified in this contract. All contractors have to be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database https://www.sam.gov prior to contract award pursuant to FAR provision 5.207. Therefore prospective offerors are encouraged to register prior to the submittal of quotations/proposals. The guidelines for registration in SAM are also available at: https://www.statebuy.state.gov/pd/Pages/AdditionalVendorReg.aspx All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered.
