- The Department of Justice (DoJ), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Washington D.C. intends to issue a sole source purchase order in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The purchase order will be issued to Wash Met. Area Tran Auth. (WMATA) for transportation services for DoJ OIG employees. The description of the service to be ordered: transportation services throughout the greater Washington metro area, including Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. The WMATA is the only public transportation available in the Washington, D.C. area that provides as extensive service. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C 253 (c)(1) as cited in FAR 6.302-1, 'Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.' This purchase order is issued as a sole source to WMATA to ensure federal DoJ OIG employees all have a means of getting to work. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; no solicitation package will be issued. However, if another transportation service has any questions or concerns, or can provide additional information about other transportation services serving as vast of a route as WMATA, it may give notification via e-mail to Christie Deskiewicz, Contracting Officer, at christie.m.deskiewicz@usdoj.gov no later than October 27, 2016, 11:59 a.m., ET. The Government will review all responses without prejudice, whether or not the Government initially determines that another firm is fully-qualified to fulfill the requirements.
