- Description
- Cancelation of RFP The purpose of Amendment #0006 for HSTS02-16-R-OIA011 TSA PreèApplication Expansion is to cancel the Request for Proposal. "Due to concerns about the ability to ensure vendors properly safeguard testing data in light of the increased and evolving cybersecurity risks over the past year, TSA, after consultation with DHS National Protection and Programs Directorate about best practices in cybersecurity for protecting data, has decided to cancel the TSA Preè Application Expansion Request for Proposal. As currently written, there is risk in using personally identifiable information during the testing phase of the process. While risk mitigations were included in the current RFP testing approach to protect the sensitive data during testing, TSA has determined it will no longer accept the risk associated with sharing the test data. TSA issued the TSA Preè Application Expansion Request for Proposal (RFP) last October as part of its efforts to partner with the private sector to increase options for enrollment and expand the number of travelers enrolled in the TSA Preè program. Over the summer, TSA expanded its enrollment network to increase staff, hours of operations, and add more locations to help increase enrollments for TSA Preè as well as increase public awareness about the program. TSA intends to continue to improve access to TSA Preè and drive enrollment innovation by incorporating many of the enrollment enhancement requirements included in the TSA Preè expansion effort into an upcoming enrollment solicitation, to be released in the near future. This upcoming solicitation will align with DHS cybersecurity best practices and TSA's continuing focus on cybersecurity and privacy to protect people and programs.
