- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY for vendors. The project is "Crane Boom Repair Services for the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project, North Pole, Alaska." OFFERS OR PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS NOTICE. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Government owns a P&H 790-TC mobile lattice boom crane located at the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project near North Pole, Alaska. The crane boom sections are tube steel and have areas of rust. This contract is for inspection of the boom structure and repairs for corrosion control. The contractor shall sandblast all existing paint off each crane boom section, perform non-destructive testing to ensure the integrity of each boom section and repaint each crane boom section. The crane boom sections consist of the following: One 25 foot base section One 25 foot tip section Two 50 foot insert sections One 30 foot insert section One 20 foot insert section The non-destructive testing shall be performed via magnetic particle testing or other suitable method. Personnel performing the inspections shall be certified by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) or equivalent. The Contractor shall furnish all management, labor, equipment, travel, supplies, materials and other items necessary to accomplish the work. The boom sections will be removed from the crane by the Government. The Contractor shall transport the boom sections to their repair facility or repair on site. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price. Estimated award date is December 2016 and all repairs shall be completed no later than 30 March 2017. If this contract action is cancelled, all proposal preparation costs shall be borne by the offeror. All offerors are advised that they must be registered in System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) to be eligible for a federal contract award. Offerors are advised to begin this process when they prepare their proposal in order to ensure registration is in place should they be selected for award. The North American Industrial classification System (NAICS) code is 811310, which has a size standard of $7.5 million. Interested vendors are requested to respond to the primary point of contact by e-mail with the following information: 1. Company Name, Address and DUNS number. Indicate if the company has an active registration in the System for Award Management (www.sam.gov). 2. Small Business status (for example, Small Business, 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Woman-Owned, etc.). 3. Firm's interest as a prime contractor or subcontractor. If a prime contractor, indicate what work will be self-performed and whether the non-destructive testing will be subcontracted. 4. Applicable types of non-destructive testing performed by the firm (or intended subcontractor if subcontracting the testing). Provide up to 3 projects demonstrating the firm's or subcontractor's experience with non-destructive testing of structural components. 5. Availability of appropriately certified personnel to perform the non-destructive testing.
