Description

Under this requirement, the contractor will deliver a prototype system for use in the evaluation of a long-standoff subsurface and above surface target detection system in the maritime environment. The prototype system will consist of two maritime network nodes; LRI Sensor Hosting Autonomous Remote Craft (SHARC) SV3 Unmanned Surface Vehicles (wave gliders) equipped with a sensor payload system to demonstrate the target detection concept. The program will leverage ongoing industry developments in acoustic sensing from the Liquid Robotics, Inc. (LRI) SHARC SV3. At-sea testing events will be conducted to exercise the system's sensing capability and to collect data in support of initial concept validation. The overall goal of the system is to provide a first step towards an early warning capability which could direct attention to a specific or refined area /region.
