Description

Request for Information Details and Response Instructions The U.S. Department of Transportation Maritime Administration (MARAD) is requesting this information, in partnership with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), to assist with the planning process to investigate system capabilities, and t o support development of design, operational and maintenance requirements for a system 's integration into ships. The investigation will include the determination of the availability of systems and a review of their operational, design, and maintenance documentation. The investigation will also include collection and review of test data to ensure that the system can meet performance requirements and that it can undergo rigorous reliability testing that may be conducted shipboard, pier side, and/or in a laboratory setting. Test objectives are to identify, if needed, system improvements that would be necessary to support the shipboard integration of the equipment (system) and associated requirements for ship installation. Initial reliability testing will identify potential physical and functional challenges with systems integration to develop requirements for an approved system.
