Point of Contact is Derrick Fletcher at derrick.fletcher@va.gov Furniture Specifications For Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System Patient Care and Environment Bldg 95 Exterior Project September 28, 2016 GENERAL 1.1 Scope of Work 1.1.1 All labor, material equipment and services necessary to manufacture and deliver all furnishes and related components as indicated or specified. 1.2 Quotation Documents 1.2.1 Furniture Specification and Schedule/2237 1.3 Performance Requirements 1.3.1 The specification covers the requirement for exterior furnishings to match existing standard exterior campus furnishings. The minimum acceptable requirements for manufacturer s extent of project line, design, materials, workmanship, performance, safety and services are set forth, hereinafter. Failure to meet the minimum acceptable requirements may result in disqualification of the bid. 1.3.2 All furnishings shall be of a design, material and workmanship to withstand hard 7 day usage over an extended life with a minimum or maintenance and repair. 1.3.3 The manufacture shall provide and be responsible for the technical assistance, development and generation for final specifications. 1.3.4 The manufacturer will provide a minimum of 3 three years from date of invoice warranty, covering parts, labor, and shipping. 1.4 Testing Requirements 1.4.1 All tests indicated herein must be conducted by an independent testing laboratory. Test results must not be more than two years old. Test reports should include complete descriptions of the material and construction, certified by the testing laboratory. 1.4.2 Any test which in not performed or not in accordance with the testing requirements specified shall be identified by the Bidder as a proposed exception and shall be submitted for prior approval. ANSI/BIFMA X5.4-2005 Standard Test for Lounge Seating 1.5 Submittals 87 1.5.2 Submittals required with the Bid are as Follows: 1.5.2.1 Submit price list for all products and services Bid 1.5.2.2 Submit complete test results 1.5.2.4 Submit manufacturer s product specification and any drawings and samples required for approval prior to commencement of manufacturing. 1.5.2.5 Submit all warranties and maintenance manuals to owner. 1.6 Delivery, Storage and Handling of Materials 1.6.1 Product shall be factory packed with adequate protection to all sides and corners to prevent transit and handling damage. 2.0 PRODUCT Landscape Forms 2.1 General 2.1.1 All finished surfaces shall be free of scratches, mars, dents, or blemishes, and withstand staining, and exhibit to flaking, cracking, or loss or adhesion. 2.1.2 Furnishings shall have smooth finishes with no hazardous projections, sharp corners, or detail, which can be hazardous and cause personal injury or damage to clothing. 2.2 Gretchen Picnic Table 2.2.1 Size: Table Top: 30 H x 29 W x 54 L, Seating 17.5 H x 14 W x 54 L, Overall 30 H x 58.25 W x 54 L 2.2.2 Supports: 2 outside diameter, 0.120 inch wall thickness, tubing. 2.2.3 Material: Polysite constructed of 100% high-density polyethylene (HDPE) derived from recycled post-consumer packaging such as milk containers. Polysite timbers are extruded to size: 3 x 4 molded face boards 2.2.4 Polysite 69% Post-consumer content, 26% Pre-consumer content, Total recycled content 95%, Gretchen 100% recyclable. Color Bark 2.2.5 Finish on Carbon Steel legs: Primer Rust inhibitor, Topcoat Thermosetting polyester powdercoat. UV chip, and flake resistant, gloss garner 60 degrees, ASTM D 523, UV resistance, color and gloss, ASTM G 155, Cycle 7 Delta E less than 2 at 2.0 mils and less than 20 percent loss. ColorL RAL Custom Color 2.2.5.1 Cross-Hatch Adjesion, ASTM D 3359, Method B 100 percent pass. 2.2.5.2 Flexbility test, mandrel, ASTM D 522, 3 mm at 2 mils. 2.2.5.3 Erichsen Cupping ISO 1520: 8mm 2.2.5.4 Impression Hardness Buchholz, ISO 2815, 95 2.2.5.5 Impact Test, ASTM D 2794 60 inches pound at 2.5 mils. 2.3 Litter Receptacle - Plexus 2.3.1 Plexus litter receptacle to be 20 D x 36 H (30 gallon capacity) and have side opening. 2.3.2. Litter Body: Formed of wire grid panel of 5/16 frame and bars 2-1/2 o.c. with 1/8 cross wires ½ o.c. inserted in a 7/8 outer diameter, 0.065 wall thickness steel ring. Litter receptacle front has hinged door that swings open for litter removal. 2.3.3 Lids: Constructed of 14-guage spun metal. Lid is permanently welded to unit. 2.3.4 Sand Pan Insert: Formed by spun steel, finished with black powdercoat. 2.3.5 Liners: Constructed of molded polyethylene. Color coordinates with powdercoat color. 2.3.6 Freestanding Surface Mounted 2.3.7 Powder coated RAL 5021 custom color to match facilities standards. 2.4 Ash Urn Grenadier 2.4.1 Size: 10 D x 35 H 2.4.2 Capacity: 1 ¾ gallons. 2.4.3 Bin 4 x 4 x 0.100 2.4.4 Ash Bin is made of 6063-T6 aluminum extrusion.
