- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) William J. Hughes Technical Center intends to extend the current contract (DTFAWA-11-D-00004) with UNICOM Government of Herndon, VA. This extension will allow for the continued purchase of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware (HW) that includes servers, storage systems, network devices and related services in support of the FAA ™s information technology (IT) enterprise for a period of four (4) months with two (2) three (3) month option periods. The purpose of this extension is to allow for a continuation in services so the FAA can complete the current competition for a new contract for this requirement. The FAA is currently processing a new Strategic Acquisition of Various Equipment and Supplies (SAVES) Personal Computer Device Contract (DTFACT-15-R-00045). UNICOM is the current provider under contract DTFAWA-11-D-00004. This contract is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract under the Strategic Acquisition of Various Equipment (SAVES) Program. This contract provides simple purchasing of COTS HW that includes servers, storage systems, network devices and related services in support of the FAA ™s information technology (IT) enterprise for the FAA ™s CONUS and OCONUS locations. This is a sole source requirement to UNICOM as they are the only current provider of the above products under the FAA mandatory source SAVES contract. The follow-on contracts for this requirement are currently in the pre-award stages. The extension to the UNICOM contract will service as a bridge contract consisting of one four (4) month period and two (2) three (3) month periods. The bridge will serve to avoid any interruption in services while the FAA completes the current competition for a follow-on contract. Accordingly, a competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA is not liable for any costs associated with the preparing of a response to this announcement. Any questions or comments about this announcement must be directed to Elizabeth Ford Ochs at Elizabeth.Ford@faa.gov, no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on November 10, 2016.
