Description

In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.215-3, Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes this Special Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). 1. REQUIREMENT: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Program Contracting Activity Central (VHA-PCAC) is holding an Industry Day for the procurement of the Expand Emergency Department Minor Construction project at the Loma Linda VA Medical Center, located at 11201 Benton St., Loma Linda, CA 92357. This requirement was previously solicited as a Request For Proposal (RFP) in July 2016. However, due to excessive pricing and issues with the period of performance, the solicitation was cancelled on October 07, 2016. VHA-PCAC will conduct an Industry Day to review the design drawings and specifications, conduct a site walkthrough and discuss the phasing of the project with Industry, will ensure all interested contractors understand the intent and requirements for the project. 2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Construct a new 1-story addition to VA Loma Linda Main Hospital Building. Facilities shall include exterior build out (19,899 SF); entire interior demo (13,120 SF); expansion (6,799 SF); renovation (8,683 SF); police department shell (4,437 SF) and imaging suite shell (1,296 SF). Work includes general construction, alterations, roads, walks, grading, drainage, mechanical and electrical work, healthcare equipment, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. 3. ADMINISTRATIVE/MISCELLANEOUS: The Industry day will be held on November 21, 2016 from 9:00 AM PDT to 11:00 AM PDT. The meeting location will be room 1F-38 (Auditorium) located at 11201 Benton St., Loma Linda, CA 92357. The Auditorium 1F-38 is in the main hospital building. Contractors are required to RSVP via email to donald.marsh@va.gov. Please forward RSVP no later than November 16, 2016 at 4:00 PM EDT. RSVP should include the RFI #: VA701-17-N-0003, Project Title: Loma Linda Expand Emergency Department, Company Name and Name of Attendees. Industry day agenda is provided below: 09:00 AM 9:30 AM Introduction and Discussion/Review of Specs and Drawings. 09:30 AM - 10:30 AM - Site Walk Through; 10:30 AM 11:00 AM - Q&A and Industry Feedback. (We can continue past 11:00 AM if necessary)
