- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning for the repair of a Russell walk in Chamber. ***** The Inorganic Materials Group at NIST is currently using four (4) custom built Russells Technical Product's Walk-In Environmental Chambers to conduct research on concreate materials for which temperature and humidity control play a critical role in material's performance. Tests need to be conducted, in a temperature and relative humidity controlled environment. Currently, one of the Chambers is in need of repair and requires inspection to ensure accuracy to be consistent with NIST metrology standards. Sole source determination is based on the need to repair and inspect a Walk-In Chamber manufactured by Russells Technical Products. The custom chambers were designed and installed by Russells Technical Products and ULT Services in 2012. ULT services is partnered with Isaac Commercial & Industrial Services and is the only known vendor identified who is capable of providing the required repair and inspection. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219- Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair. ****** A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****Interested parties that believe they could satisfy the requirements listed above for NIST may clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Any questions regarding this notice must be submitted in writing via email to Prateema Carvajal at prateema.carvajal@nist.gov. All responses to this notice of intent must be submitted so that they are received at Prateema.carvajal@nist.gov no later than November 18, 2016 at 8:00 AM Eastern Time.
