- WNY 201 The work involves providing all materials, labor, equipment and necessary design work for the removal and replacement with a new and improved roof for Building 201, at the Washington Navy Yard, in Washington, DC. Building 201 has a multi-level roof and approximately 250 foot by 185 foot in size. WNY 201 is currently a single ply roofing system (PVC). WNY 201 is a secure facility and will require clearances and escort services for all workers and should be taken into consideration during proposal preparation. The limit of work shall consist of removing the existing roof system down to the roof deck. Replacement shall be 4-ply SBS modified system with granular cap sheet. Provide deck insulation and sealant to ensure water tight roof with positive drainage and R-30 rating. It is assumed that a maximum of 10% of the existing deck is to be replaced /repaired. All penetrations shall be sealed and made water tight. All existing flashing, coping, downspouts, scuppers, drains, curbs and gutters shall be replaced with new to match existing and as approved by NAVFAC. A sketch/drawing is provided illustrating size, locations of penetrations, equipment, and walk pads (if any). In addition, contractor shall provide a minimum twenty (20) year warranty on material and workmanship for the roof. The award and installation of the roof for building 201 shall take into consideration the planed installation of the solar panels. WNY Building 33, 36, 37, 39 and 109 The work involves providing all materials, labor, and equipment for the removal and replacement of damaged and missing slate tiles of the roof for Buildings 33, 36, 37, 39 and 109 at the Washington Navy Yard, in Washington, DC. Building 33, 36, 37, 39 and 109 (hereafter referred to as the quad) are multi- story and approximately 18700 square feet. The limit of work shall consist of locating missing and damaged slate tiles and replacing in-kind. It is assumed that a maximum of 15% and 18% of the slate is/are missing or damaged and is to be replaced. The slate tiles are multi-colored and are to be replaced with matching colors and brand type. The tile is some areas are loose and require reattachment. The tiles have been reported to be loose and present a safety hazard to pedestrians below. The gutters currently are used to catch both water and the falling tiles. Many of the snow guards are missing and or have failed causing large amounts of snow to fall off the roof. Therefore, the contractor shall repair damaged and replace missing snow guard. Where gutters are not high enough to caught sliding tiles new gutter extension shall be installed. It should be noted the lower 2 ™ of tile may be adhered and fastened as is the case with similar buildings in the area. The contractor will be required to field verify size, type (Buckingham) and condition of current slate tiles and snow guards. Approval of slate tiles submittals shall be provided by NAVFAC Environment Department.
