- Solicitation Number: W81XWH-17-MHSRS-RFI Sources Sought Notice/Request for Information: Printing and Publication The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USMRAA) on behalf of the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), is conducting market research to identify any sources with the capability of providing the required printing and publication identified herein. Task: Printing and Publication of the Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS), Non-Trauma Research Articles as a Supplement to the Journal, Military Medicine Overview and Objectives: A.The MHSRS is a mission essential symposium, sponsored by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and managed by the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), Combat Casualty Care Research Program (CCCRP) in conjunction with the other services. It is a premier scientific conference designed to address the unique medical needs of the warfighter, and provides a collaborative environment for military medical care providers with deployment experience, Department of Defense (DoD) scientists, academia, and industry in the areas of Combat Casualty Care, Military Operational Medicine, Clinical and Rehabilitative Medicine, and Military Infectious Diseases Research Programs. The MHSRS provides an opportunity for the Services to share advancements and identify critical research needs essential to the mission. This collaborative environment for DoD scientists, academia, and industry, precludes duplicative efforts, and fosters rapid advancement and evaluation of research and development activities through a constant exchange of medical research information. B.The USAMRMC, CCCRP requires publication of a subset of MHSRS research articles (non-trauma medical research) as a special supplement in a peer-reviewed medical journal whose target audience is the US military medical community to achieve widest dissemination among military healthcare professionals. It is anticipated that the contractor will have to produce an approximately 352 page color special issue as a supplement to its peer-reviewed medical journal featuring non-trauma medical research articles selected by the MHSRS committee. Anticipated Deliverable(s): A.The Contractor shall produce a 10,000 copy run of the special issue for journal subscribers. B.The Contractor shall produce an additional 200 copies for USAMRMC use. C.The Contractor shall be responsible for copy editing and printing of the special issue. D.The Contractor shall produce the front and back covers of the special issue in color using graphics provided by the MHSRS Committee. E.The Contractor shall distribute the special issue to journal subscribers using normal postage/handling and freight mechanisms. Anticipated Deliverables are as follows: 10,000 copies of an approximately 352 page supplement distributed to journal subscribers and an additional 200 copies for USAMRMC This is a combined Sources Sought Notice (SSN) and Request for Information (RFI) only. This SSN/RFI is open to small and large business concerns. The Government is seeking to identify qualified sources able to meet its needs. Any interested parties should respond to the this SSN/RFI to provide the following information, via email to abraham.g.pottenger.civ@mail.mil no later than the time identified in FBO. 1)Offering that can meet the needs listed above to include the offerors name 2)Data or specification sheet that details the offerors/interested parties capacities (relation to peer-reviewed medical journal featuring non-trauma medical research) and any other pertinent information. 3)Contact information of individual responding to this announcement and indicate if it is a small business. All interested firms must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award of Government contracts. All responses received will be reviewed to determine if other workstations can satisfy the Government's need. This is not a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations and no contract will be awarded from this SSN/RFI. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement. No hard copy responses or telephonic questions will be accepted.
