REQUEST FOR INFORMATION/SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE PHARMACY CASEWORK DESIGN CLINIC BUILDING, VAMC, JEFFERSON BARRACKS DIVISION, ST. LOUIS, MO Description The St. Louis VAMC in support of the Jefferson Barracks Major Projects is seeking information to determine procurement strategy as part of market research for design services for Pharmacy Casework for Clinic Building 55 currently under construction at the VA Medical Center, Jefferson Barracks Division, St. Louis, MO. Furniture Design/ Layout Services is Category 712 4 under the GSA Comprehensive Furniture Management Services Schedule 71 II K. This is a request for information only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes; it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation (RFQ) or a promise to issue in RFQ/RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the VA is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Interested Contractors are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP/RFQ, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. Background A new Clinic Building is currently under construction at the St. Louis VA Jefferson Barracks campus. A preliminary modular casework layout has been developed for Pharmacy Casework. If and when a RFQ and resulting contract is awarded, the VA needs to procure final layout and specifications that will allow us to compete the requirements. Layout Requirements: Must meet the needs and requirements of the end users. The contractor would meet with the end users to learn their requirements and incorporate that information into the layout. End users will make the final approval of layout. Specification Requirements: The casework must be a medical modular system that is totally supported on vertical standards that are mounted to either walls or modular wall panels. The components shall be based on 24 and 48 increments and be interchangeable with each other. The finishes must be appropriate for the work done in the pharmacy; applicable codes must be applied. The specifications must allow for competition of multiple manufacturers; proprietary specifications are not allowed. Requested Information Is contractor a current GSA schedule holder; if so, identify GS Schedule, SDVOSB/VOSB status and expiration date. If SDVOSB/VOSB, contractor must be registered with VetBiz Vendor Information Pages at www.va.gov/osdbu. How can the VA determine qualification of contractors to do the work? Are there certifications that would indicate specialized training in Pharmacy Design? Are there applicable codes that must be applied? What information is necessary to quote on this design contract? Can hours and hourly rate be estimated? How many meetings with end users are needed? Responses Interested parties are requested to respond to this RFI via email only to Karen.Munroe@va.gov. Proprietary information, if any, should be minimized and MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Estimated pricing with breakdown of equipment costs vs labor costs) with labor categories identified. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The VA has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
