- RFP A17-0785 High Speed Camera Ames Laboratory is considering the purchase of a high speed camera to enhance its ability to capture processing images of high pressure gas atomization, and centrifugal atomization. Additionally, the camera will capture images of melt spinning, solidification nucleation in levitation melting, Schlieren photography/imaging, 3D printing. The key parameters for the camera selected will maximize recording time with high frame rate and have flexible modes of operation such as on-camera controls as well as software control by remote computer - as this unit will be used in multiple labs and industrial type production environments. Preference will be given to a camera that can be mounted on elevated platforms and allow remote focusing and aperture adjustments. Consideration of image resolution and quality, and triggering options closely follows.
