- Description
- CONTRACTIOR RESPONSIBILITY SURVEY C-5 HYDRAULIC ACTUATING CYLINDER ASSEMBLY The Government is conducting market research via this RFI to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to manufacture the C5 hydraulic actuating cylinder assembly (NSN 1650004839687 / Part Number 7115-4). Our acquisition strategy is a one-time tactical purchase. The projected quantity will be nine (9) each. The actuating cylinder assembly is used to drive the lock mechanism when locking the aft ramp of the C-5 in the closed position. It is 6.125" in length retracted, with a 1.5" stroke. The cylinder assembly operates at 3000 psi and is compatible with MIL-PRF-5606 and MIL-PRF-83282 hydraulic fluids. In addition to operating as a hydraulic linear cylinder, this unit also performs the function of a sequence valve, permitting fluid flow from the retract port to the signal port after the retraction stroke. A left and right configuration is used on the aircraft. The subject cylinder assembly is the right configuration. The leading particulars for the item is as follows: Operating Medium: Hydraulic Fluid (Military Specification MIL-H-5606) Operating Pressure: 3000 psig Proof Pressure: 4500 psig Burst Pressure: 7500 psig Unlock Pressure: 500 - 1000 psig Temperature Range, Operating: -54°C (-65°F) to +71°C (+160°F) Weight: 1.46 Pounds Stroke Length: 1.50 Inches Additional envelope requirements are contained in Air Force drawing 4H90240.
