Description
This is the original Statement of Work which includes details of the work to be completed STATEMENT OF WORK 1. Title: Removal and Reinstall of Kardex Vertical Carousels 2. Technical Point of Contact {TPOC):Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) TPOCs. The TPOC will provide contractor directions to Building 79 and Building 178. Contractor shall notify the Navy 's TPOC or alternate TPOC prior to commencing and upon completion of services. 3. Period of Performance: (POP): On or before 12/01/2016 4. Background: five ( 5 ) Kardex Vertical Carousels located in in Building 79 will need to be removed and reinstalled in Building 178. Additionally, (1) Kardex Vertical Kardex Carousel, will need to be disassembled and palletized for spare parts or use at a later date. 5. Scope of Work: 5.1 Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, and tools required to disassemble ( 5 ) Kardex Vertical Carousels, in Building 79; then transport and reassemble them in Building 178. Assembly shall include installing all carriers in all carousels, aligning door limit switches {top and bottom doors), verifying carrier positioning, checking all safety stops, and machine cycling. Functionality testing shall be accomplished before machines are disassembled in Building 79 and again when assembly is complete. 5.2 Location of vertical Carousels in Building 178 will be determined by the PNS TPOC. PNS will ensure power is available in Building 178 for reinstallation of carousels. All (5) carousels will be moved and installed in an "as is" condition. All (5) carousels are currently operational. No additional work will be done on the carousels unless confirmed and authorized by the PNS Contracting Office. Contractor shall be liable for any damage they cause to the (5) carousels during the removal and reinstallation. 5.2.1 Contractor shall also provide all labor, equipment, materials, and tools required to disassemble (1) Kardex Vertical Carousel,, and palletize it for storage. Statement of Work Removal and reinstall of Kardex Vertical Carousels 5.3 The contractor shall follow OSHA 1926.501 (Fall Protection) and 1915.159 {Personal Fall Arrest Systems) for fall protection. 5.3.l All operators and passengers shall wear a full body harness with attachment point located in the center of the wearer's back when working in aerial work platforms, to include boom lifts and scissor lifts 5.3.2 The connecting device must prevent occupants from free falling more than 5 feet, or contacting any lower level. 5.3.2.1 Connecting devices approved for use are shock absorbing lanyards (5 feet or less), self-retracing lifelines (SRLs) with original equipment manufacturer approval/guidance, and restraint lanyards. 5.4 Any release of oil or other liquids that are hazardous to the environment, regardless of the quantity, is considered a spill. If a spill occurs while removing and reinstalling the carousels the contractor shall contact Central Dispatch at 5.5 Should any work performed involve hazardous energy control (HEC) IAW 29 CFR Part 1915.89 and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Occupational Safety, health and Environmental Corporate Manual (OSHECM) Chapter 250 (latest Revision) including Lockout/Tags-Plus (LOTP, the operator will be required to complete a PNS HEC Contractor Compliance Certification Document (Rev B 8/26/2014) 5.5.1 The text of 29 CFR Part 1915.89 is available at the OSHA Fact Sheet Web Site and the latest revision of OSHECM Chapter 250 is available at: www.navsea.navy.mil/shipyards/norfolk/Shared%20Documents/Chapter%2 0250.pdf 6. SECURITY Buildings 79 and 178 are located inside of the Controlled Industrial Area (CIA) of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. No person not known to be an American citizen of good standing and repute shall be eligible for access to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Proof of citizenship may be required. be required.
