- Description
- PDF Survey Data Points AG-8544-R-17-0005 RFI Form Seeking Interested Vendors - This Request For Information (RFI)is being performed to determine the best method to meet the Government's needs for a bank stabilization project. Responses received will determine how and when the Forest Service will proceed with meeting those needs. This RFI describes a potential streambank stabilization project on the Shoshone National Forest. The location is at the Wood River Campground on the North Zone of the Forest. The goal is to stabilize the stream bank, restore riparian floodplain, and to protect the campground. If solicited, the project may include natural channel design as an optional bid item to the streambank stabilization construction. As such, information within this RFI is being requested for both. A site map is attached for your review. Details that may be useful when considering this project include: - It is anticipated that the campground would be closed during the construction work, and that some material stock piling would be allowed. - The west edge of the campground and project site is private property, and no work will occur off National Forest lands. - The project could include general campground maintenance to camp sites and fencing. - The scope of the design should include a toe-wood structure, minimal channel reshaping, limited construction of vanes, cross-vanes, etc. However, other suggestions would be considered. - The design will minimize the use of large rock and instead use predominately large wood. - The project should take no more than three weeks total to complete. - Survey data is available and includes longitudinal profile, pebble count data, bar sample, and cross sections. Data collection locations are shown in the attached diagram. NOTE: The data collection locations provided is for demonstration of points collected and would be provided in a more readable format should a solicitation be forthcoming. PLEASE COMPLETE THE ATTACHED FORM AND SUBMIT VIA EMAIL TO DJSTULC@FS.FED.US.
