Description
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Reference #: N0025917N0025. Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, to: Osteomed; 2885 Arapaho RD; Addison, TX, 75056. The objective of this sole source award is to acquire cranial plating that is 1. Titanium 2. Low profile 3. Compatible with the proprietary Osteomed zero plating system. Absorbable pediatric plates and screws that are: 1. Biodegradable composed of 1-lactide, d, d-lactide polygyloclide and TMC 2. Amorphous degrade in vivo and are metabolized by hydrolysis by the body into Co2 and water. 3. Not interfered with postoperative imaging. 4. Must allow precise contouring of plates due to heating. Bone cement for cranial procedures in order to fill bone voids of skull flap or to create a seal for cranial flaps placed on the patient. The product must 1. be molded for an extended period of time after mixture. 2. Compressive Strength: 50MPa Tensile Strength: 6MPa 3. Most importantly it must be able to withstand a wet environment and not emit any heat. Osteomed is the manufacturer and sole distributer of the items. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339113; the small business size standard is 750 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 9:15 AM Pacific Time on December 16, 2016 may be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Jeff Collins at Jeffrey.p.collins20.civ@mail.mil. The email subject line shall state, "Naval Medical Center San Diego, Intent to Award Sole Source to Osteomed." A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED
