- The purpose of Amendment 2 is to: 1)Extend the AMSIS proposal due date to January 17, 2017; 2)Post AMSIS Industry Comments and FAA Responses Amendment 2; 3)Post Attachment A - Industry Comments to the AMSIS SSD Change Log; 4)Amend SIR Sections, listed below, that resulted from Industry Comments: Section A Section B Section F Section H Section I Section L Section M J Attachments “ J-2, J-29, J-30,J-34, J-35, J-38 This Screening Information Request (SIR) is issued in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) 3.2.1.3.11. Interested parties are advised that: - This is a Screening Information Request (SIR) or Request for Proposal (RFP); - The FAA will not pay for any information or any administrative costs incurred that are associated with any response received from industry in response to this SIR; - Any costs associated with your response are solely at the interested parties ™ expense; - Any proprietary or confidential information submitted in response to this SIR should be appropriately marked. I. INTRODUCTION/ BACKGROUND AMSIS is an aerospace medical information system that integrates critical medical information associated with airmen, air traffic controllers and other aviation-related personnel in safety sensitive roles that require medical certification and clearance. These personnel are from geographically distributed locations both nationally and internationally. AMSIS provides tools necessary for the AAM to make risk-based decisions through an automated method of collecting, reviewing, and analyzing medical information. AMSIS implements reengineered business processes to better meet the needs of all stakeholders. AMSIS will ensure real time and comprehensive access to data, thereby improving timeliness and accuracy while reducing paper-based correspondence. It will also enable improved collaboration within the aviation community, both domestic and international, as well as among personnel, designees, and applicants. Data will be secured and remain easily accessible, while facilitating management and workforce decision making, thereby providing the basis for a proactive safety approach with improved productivity. AMSIS will provide improved accessibility to data and a greater ability to analyze medical information to identify safety trends that could impact system safety II. CONTRACT TYPE & PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE The FAA contemplates award of a Hybrid type contract resulting from this SIR. The total period of performance of this contract is five (5) years, assuming all options are exercised; including a three (3) year base period and two (2) one (1) year options. The FAA reserves the right to make no award if such action is determined to be in the FAA ™s best interest.
