- This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought publication only. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Please do not submit a proposal in response to this RFI. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Fargo VA Health Care System, is seeking potential contractor shall provide 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Medical Doctor, board certified or board eligible in Nephrology provider services on site in accordance with the specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Fargo VAHCS. The Fargo VA is looking for responses from contractors regarding their capability to provide 1.0 FTE Nephrology Physician Services. 1.0 FTE is defined as 40 hours per week; 2080 hours per year. Services to be provided include: Clinic and Surgical Care: Contractor provider(s) shall provide clinical nephrology services. Contractor provider(s) shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics as documented by physical presence in the clinic at the scheduled start time. Approximate case load is as follows: An average of 4-10 veterans are seen per provider per day in the Nephrology Clinic depending on the time required to see the individual veteran. Contractor provider(s) shall provide comprehensive clinical nephrology services. Contract Health providers shall directly admit patients to the Fargo VAHCS if their condition warrants, or in conjunction with the Fargo VAHCS attending physician, admit patients for subsequent inpatient healthcare. Contractor provider(s) shall provide consultative services at the patient s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic. Procedures shall be scheduled for completion within 30 days of the date of the consult. Should a VA beneficiary require services or care beyond the capabilities of the Fargo VAHCS, as determined by the attending physician and Fargo VAHCS Chief of Staff, the patient shall be transferred to an appropriate VA or private medical treatment facility based upon patient condition. The Contract physician shall coordinate all transfers with the Fargo VAHCS Clinical Resource Management Nurse prior to actual transfer. Contract health care providers shall seek the approval of the Fargo VAHCS Clinical Resource Management Nurse or designee before performing other actions for non-emergent procedures or treatments. Patient Safety Compliance: Contract physician(s) shall follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care. Contract physician(s) shall make every effort to prevent medication errors, falls, and patient injury caused by acts of commission or omission in the delivery of care. Medications: Contractor provider(s) shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. Discharge education: Contractor provider(s) shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all nephrology clinical patients. Additional Information: The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621111, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists); size standard of $11 Million. Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond directly to any corresponding solicitation by submitting a proposal.
