Description
This Request for Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as an Invitation for Bid, Request for Quotation, or a Request for Proposal (RFP). Additionally, there is no obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services described in this RFI. Response to this RFI will be treated only as information for the Government to consider. You will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs that you incur in responding to this RFI. This request does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or the authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized, appropriated or received for this effort. The information provided may be used by the Army in developing its acquisition strategy, Statement of Work/Statement of Objectives and Performance Based Specification. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on this RFI or to otherwise pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI. U.S. Army CERDEC S&TCD is interested in receiving technical specifications on ultra-wideband antenna systems which are either Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products or mature prototypes satisfying TRL 6 and above. This RFI seeks information regarding three separate antenna systems. Vendors may respond with technical information on COTS products or mature prototypes that meet the requirements of any or all of these systems. Vendors may also respond with information on COTS or mature prototype systems that meet the majority of the specifications and which have a potential to be improved to meet the full specification. Responses must be limited to no more than 25 pages in total. Objective Antenna System Attributes: Antenna #1: Physical Specifications Spring mounted assembly base Standard SINCGARS mount "Desert Sand" exterior surface color except spring dampener Maximum Height: 53" Maximum Weight: 12.5 lbs. Performance Specifications: VSWR: No greater than 3.5:1 from 25-150 MHz and 3:1 from 150-2500 MHz Power Handling: 150W from 25-150 MHz and 400W from 150-2500 MHz Radiation Pattern: Omni-directional pattern with a peak gain of greater than -6 dBi from 25-550 MHz Radiation Pattern: Directional pattern in the forward direction with peak gain of: Greater than 0 dBi at 850 MHz Greater than +1 dBi at 900 MHz Greater than +2 dBi at 1000 MHz Greater than +4 dBi at 1500 MHz Greater than +6.5 dBi at 1800 MHz Greater than +3.5 dBi at 2000 MHz Greater than +1 dBi at 2500 MHz Polarization: Linear Vertical Antenna #2: Physical Specifications Spring mounted assembly base Standard SINCGARS mount "Desert Sand" exterior surface color except spring dampener Maximum Height: 32" Maximum Weight: 17 lbs. Performance Specifications: VSWR: No greater than 3.0:1 from 800-2500 MHz and no greater than 3.0:1 from 2400-6000 MHz. Power Handling: 400W from 800-2500 MHz and 100W from 2500-6000 MHz Radiation Pattern: Directional pattern with an elevation beamwidth of 16 degrees and an azimuth beamwidth of 23 degrees with peak gains of: Greater than +10 dBi at 850 MHz Greater than +14 dBi at 1850 MHz Greater than +11 dBi at 2400 MHz Minimum of +8 dBi from 800-2500 MHz Radiation Pattern: Omni-directional pattern in the azimuth plane with a minimum peak gain of -5.0 dBi for from 2400-6000 MHz Polarization: Linear Vertical Antenna #3: Physical Specifications Flush surface mount "Desert Sand" exterior surface color Maximum Height: 1.5" Maximum Footprint: 3.5" x 8" Maximum Weight: 10 oz. Performance Specifications: VSWR: No greater than 2.0:1 from 824-960 MHz and 2.0:1 from 1710-2170 MHz Radiation Pattern: Omni-directional pattern in the azimuth plane with +2 dBi +/- 2 dB gain from 824-960 MHz and +2 dBi +/- 2 dB gain from 1710-2170 MHz Impedance: 50 Ohms Polarization: Linear Vertical The antenna systems must not subject vehicle occupants to dangerous levels of electromagnetic radiation, and shall comply with established Army exposure safety standards. The antenna systems shall be capable of operating under established MIL-STD-810F environmental and weather conditions. Note: This closed on 24 Nov 2016.
