Description
Appendix C Appendix B Appendix A RFI This synopsis is being posted to Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov. It is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet. The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (DASN(RDT&E)) Rapid Prototyping Experimentation and Demonstration (RPED) Office has been tasked to assemble a set of mature, field ready prototypes from industry, academia, and government research and development (R&D) organizations to Counter-small Unmanned Air Systems (C-sUAS) in defense of Continental US bases, installations and mobile assets. For the purposes of this notice, small UAS is defined as Group 1 and 2 UAS where UAS includes the unmanned air vehicle, ground control station, human operator, and RF links or guidance controls. A capability concept framework has been developed to better assess potential capabilities in terms of warfighter value, operational impacts and technical relevance. Submissions shall clearly identify one or more of the Capability Concepts and shall describe how they are addressed by the submitted technology/engineering innovation. For all Capability Concepts, it is highly encouraged that submissions provide capabilities that can be rapidly fielded, provide cost-effective alternatives or complements to current/planned Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard capabilities, and inform future transitions. Submissions that leverage recent advancements in unmanned and counter unmanned systems; employ adaptive/innovative uses of technologies proven for other operational users (for example, special forces, Navy, Joint, or National); leverage adaptive, modular, open designs; and allow maximum flexibility for rapid incremental fielding of capabilities are of high interest.
