The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Brain Trauma Neuroprotection and Neurorestoration (BTNN), Center for Military Psychiatry and Neuroscience is seeking to purchase the Simoa HD-1 Digital Analyzer by Quanterix. Requirements: The Digital Analyzer shall: • Have the ability to measure multiple biomarkers in biological samples with femtogram/mL sensitivity, analogous to 3000 fold greater sensitivity compared to instruments offered by Luminex or Mesoscale • Analyze samples using a single-molecule digital ELISA array technology and provide a digital output of the resulting data • Be fully adaptable to user-customized antibody pairs for analysis via homebrew kits • Use magnetic beads to bind the antibodies and form immuno-complexes • Utilize samples as low as 10uL • Be fully automated such that samples may be fully processed for labeling, washing, reading, and output to a digital display from each set of samples initially loaded into a 96-well plate, • Contain an internalized system controller interface for the end user • Be capable of multiplexing such that up to 10 analytes may be measured from a single bead per sample • Be capable of measuring proteins, peptides, small molecules, and DNA with or without purification, enrichment, or amplification • Contain an automated workflow for which manual processing of samples may be omitted and that samples are automatically drawn, led through binding reactions, then analyzed during a run • Be compatible with blood (whole blood, serum, and plasma), cerebral spinal fluid, urine, cell/tissue lysates • Use a small reaction volume • Achieve less than or equal to 10% variation within sample replicates and have a dynamic range of 4-5 logs • Include installation and on-site training, a one-year warranty for parts and labor, and an option to purchase a support contract within one year of system purchase date • Contain manufacturer provided technical support for hardware, software, and application support as well as up to date protocols and application guides • Generate data that may be exported (via.csv,.txt, or other spreadsheet formats ) and is compatible with graphing / statistical software for both Apple/Macintosh and Windows 7 based computers • Meet the following space requirements: Width: 141.4 cm (55.66 in), Depth: 78.7 cm (31 in), Depth with monitor: 89.7 cm (35.3 in), Height: 161.2 cm (63.5 in) • Meet the following power requirements: Instrument Electrical receptacles (2 each): • Europe: DIN49441 • North America: 5 - 15r Computer Input: 100 - 240 VAC ~50 - 60 Hz, 300W Ethernet (RJ45) Recommended UPS Tested model APC, model SURTA 2200XL Voltage 100 V - 240 V ± 10% Frequency 50 - 60 Hz Power consumption Mean: 475 W (peak, 950 W) Total input current 10.8 A @100 VAC, 4.6 A @240 VAC Fuse Thermal overload protection Market research indicates only one vendor can provide an assay analyzer that is sensitive enough to differentiate between proteins with an ultra-sensitive measurement unit, enabling the detection and quantification of biomarkers previously difficult or impossible to measure. Only Quanterix can provide this equipment and all supporting consumables.
