Description
SUMMERY New Water Treatment Contract Package 1. SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall provide semi-monthly Zinc/Orthophosphate Potable Water Corrosion Inhibitor Service to/for Contractor Furnished Equipment in order to keep the facility Potable Water Piping and Equipment in optimum National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) and applicable Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) working conditions/parameters called for in Section 7. Services shall be furnished F.O.B. Destination, to the New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care System (NMVAHCS), 1501 San Pedro Dr. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 for the base period of one (1) year with the Government s option to exercise four (4) additional one-year option periods. The service is to be done in the Water Softener Mechanical Room located in Building No. 5. The Contractor shall be required to keep track of the amount of Zinc/Orthophosphate Potable Water Corrosion Inhibitor (IWE-932) required to maintain the conditions/parameters called for in Section 7. Approximately 70,000,000 gallons of water shall need to be treated throughout the year. The Zinc/Orthophosphate Potable Water Corrosion Inhibitor System supply tubing shall be tied into the facility domestic drinking water supply via an existing valve and quill located on the main water supply pipe. Coordinate with the Safety Engineer and Plumbing Shop Supervisor all work prior to ordering and installation of any equipment. The service shall require the Contractor to collect and analyze two (2) water samples to maintain the conditions/parameters called for in Section 7. One (1) water sample shall be collected semi-monthly at the base of the Soft Water Tower. One (1) water sample shall be collected semi-monthly at different locations in the facility to ensure the Zinc/Orthophosphate Potable Water Corrosion Inhibitor is being distributed successfully throughout the facility domestic water system. The Contractor is to provide and supply enough Corrosion Inhibitor (IWE-932) to maintain the conditions/parameters called for in Section 7. The Contractor is to coordinate with the Safety Engineer to determine the best locations to collect the water samples.
