Description

The Alexandria VA Health Care Systems has a requirement for two (2) board certified or board eligible Psychiatrist to temporary fill a shortage in Psychiatry, in Alexandria, Louisiana, in accordance with all terms, conditions, provision and the schedule of this solicitation, for the period from the effective date with options to extend, pending availability of funds. A background investigation is required. Required information for the VA security check is as follows: name of individual, address, date of birth & social security number. If the candidate has had a VA security check in the last five years, provide the evidence. Candidate must provide clinical references who can attest to candidate s clinical practice within the past year. BLS is required. The psychiatrist is to be competent in modern treatment principles and techniques, fully trained in all aspects routine inpatient adult psychiatry. The physician will work in the inpatient unit (9A) at the Alexandria VA, 2495 Shreveport Hwy 71, Pineville LA 71360. The contractor shall perform, but are not limited to, the following services: The physicians shall provide inpatient care working with an interdisciplinary team consisting of Psychiatrists, Physician Assistants, Mental Health Clinic Registered Nurses, Social Workers, clerks, peer supports, and Psychologist. Be responsible for appropriate documentation of clinic notes, consultations, and procedures using the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS). Board Certified? Process and take action upon all clinical alerts in CPRS and prescription renewals, sign and cosign all CPRS notes, return messages regarding patients, and respond to patients and inquiries in a timely manner. Complete electronic encounter documentation for each patient encounter, with all encounters completed daily and coded accurately. Be responsible for following all VHA guidelines, Clinical Performance Measures, OSHA regulations, The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and medical center policies and procedures, including guideline related to VHA and VISN 16 performance measures. BLS certification is required. DEA is required. HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A NPI NUMBER
