Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source Indefinite Delivery/Requirements (ID/R) Selex Sistemi Integrati Inc., 11300 W. 89th Street Overland Park, KS. The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC) has a requirement for Contractor Depot Level Support (CDLS), e.g., program management, development and delivery of documentation, and planning effort of the Distance Measuring Equipment (DME-ASII 1118 and 1119) system used to provide distance information to aircraft from a known ground location. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. The FAA intends to contract for total logistic support for the 64 DME 1118 and 1119 systems presently in place throughout the FAA. The contractor responsibilities will include: issuing expendable line replaceable units (LRUs,) issuing and repairing Exchange and Repair (E&R) and/or Repair and Return (R&R) LRUs. Selex is the only company with the hardware and technical information needed to repair the units, as they are the only source of current proprietary documentation; circuit schematics/revision information/software/firmware updates. Also, Selex is the only known source for the spare CCA ™s needed for logistics support. The anticipated contract will contain a one-year base period and fourone-year options. The proposed NAICs code for this acquisition is 811213, Communication Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a size standard of $10.0 Million. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
