- N00164-17-S-NB34 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) / SOURCES SOUGHT (SS) - SOLID STATE TETRODE GRID DRIVER AND GRID DRIVER COMPONENTS - FSC 6625 - NAICS 334519 Issue Date: 05 JAN 2017 - Closing Date: 19 JAN 2017 - 2:00 PM EDT MARKET SURVEY: Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Crane, IN 47522 intends to award a sole source contract to Polarity Incorporated, 11294 Sunrise Park Drive, Rancho Cordova, California 95742-6542 (CAGE 1KQE1) for solid state tetrode grid driver(s) and grid driver components. This effort will be conducted on a sole-source basis in accordance with the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The basis for restricting competition is the anticipated substantial duplicative costs to the Government to qualify another manufacturer's product form, fit and function which are not anticipated to be recouped through competition, and the anticipated unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency requirements through any other source. The Government is seeking potential sources to mitigate the sole-source basis cited above. Companies with the capabilities and facilities to provide components that meet the Government's specifications and qualification requirements for Solid State Tetrode Grid Drivers and Grid Driver Components are invited to submit information pertaining to their capability to fulfill this requirement. The Solid State Tetrode Grid Drivers and Tetrode Grid Driver Components shall meet the following salient characteristics: Approximate Pulser Box Dimensions 12" X 8" X 16". Cutoff voltage max - minus (-) 600v - power supplies not included Pulse voltage max - plus (+) 300v - power supplies not included Load rep rate max. - 5000Hz Output rise time - 150ns - +/-10ns Output fall time - 150ns - +/-10ns Input Voltage - 120VAC @ 1.25 Responses should include availability, budgetary cost estimate, and lead time of the solution, as well as, whether a demonstration unit can be provided to expedite the Government decision-making process. All interested parties are encouraged to submit company and product literature, a white paper no longer than 5 pages, and/or other pertinent information, such as a description with performance parameters and a statement of current availability, summary of prior testing, test reports, a budgetary estimate of test articles, production units, and production quantity breaks to mitigate the reason why the Government should not procure this effort on a sole-source basis as stated above, and/or identify other Government contracts with similar efforts for the Government's consideration.
