Description

This sole source justification details the reasoning for accomplishing this requirement on a sole source basis, per the authority at FAR 13.501(a)(1)(i): Only one source reasonably available (including brand name). A sole source Purchase Order was awarded to Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. in support of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). This Purchase Order includes the purchase one (1) Sequel System manufactured by Pacific Biosciences as well as on-site training, a consumable starter kit, an extended warranty and preventative maintenance agreement for a 12-month a base period and four 12-month option periods. This DNA sequencing system is critical to the function of the Center for Genome Sciences, Molecular Translational Sciences division at USAMRIID.
