- Notice Type: Posted Date: Intent to Award a Sole Source January 11, 2017 Original Set Aside: Response Date: Open Market-Non-Competitive January 17, 2017 @ 5:00 p.m. Classification Code: NAICS Code: J065 Maintenance and Repair Services 334512 Automatic Environmental Control (Commercial and Appliance Use) Synopsis: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7; WJB Dorn VA Medical Center located in Columbia, South Carolina; hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole source contract for the Maintenance and Repair of the Siemens Building Technologies System 600 Apogee Equipment. Control Management, Inc is designed as holding exclusive rights to sell, design, install, and service this equipment as authorized by Siemens Industry, Inc. CONTROL MANAGEMENT INC SANDLAPPER CONTROLS, INC 3101 CARLISLE STREET COLUMBIA, SC 29205 No solicitation will be forthcoming; this is a notice of intent and is not a request for competitive proposals, pursuant to: FAR 8.405-6 Limiting Sources (B) Only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or service are unique or highly specialized. FAR 13.106-1, Soliciting Competition - (b) Soliciting from a single source. (1) For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, (i) Contracting Officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand name or industrial mobilization). Any vendor who believes it is capable of meeting this requirement and not void any warranties may contact the Contracting Office, Cynthia Machuca at cynthia.machuca@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
