Description
Construction project: Ice Harbor Drainage Sump Oil Skimmer The work described herein at Ice Harbor Lock and Dam shall include but not be limited to the following: 1. Core Drilling holes of sizes from 6" to 20" diameters through the pump floor 2. Fabricating and installing discharge piping ranging in diameter from 6" to 10" within a new baffle box 3. Installing a belt oil skimmer 4. Installing a decanter tank 5. Installing a waste oil tank 6. Associated oil removal piping 7. New 12" diameter valve with operator and stem/stem guides 8. New electrical controls that operate the new oil skimmer and work with existing drainage pump controls A majority of the work will be done in the pump room gallery and within the drainage sump. The drainage sump has a depth of 75 feet. The contractor will be responsible for diverting and unwatering drainage sump during the construction period. The drainage sump will have between 1000 and 2000 GPM in flowing into it at all times. All on-site work shall be performed in accordance with the Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual (EM 385-1-1). Solicitation is set-aside for small business concerns. Solicitation Number W912EF-17-B-0006 will be posted to the FedBizOpps (FBO) website on or about 30 January 2017. The bid opening date will be contained in the solicitation and any solicitation amendments that may be issued. A site visit will be offered approximately 2 weeks after the solicitation is posted. Refer to the solicitation for details regarding the site visit. Place of Performance is the Ice Harbor Lock and Dam located near Burbank, Washington, Franklin County. This will be a firm fixed-price construction contract. Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000. A bid bond is required in the amount of 20 percent of the total bid price. Performance and Payment bonds in the amount of 100 percent of the total contract price are required. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 237990 and the associated small business size standard is $36.5 million.
