- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses and Veteran Owned Small Businesses. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax, and email (e) DUNS number (f) Cage Code (g) Tax ID Number (h) Type of small business, e.g. Services Disabled Veteran Owned small Business, Veteran-owned small business, and must provide a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to perform as a contractor for the work described below. In addition, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses or Veteran Owned Businesses who respond to a solicitation on this project must have an active/verified registration in VetBiz, located at http://vip.vetbiz.gov. Description: The Government is interested in gaining knowledge of potential businesses that would be able to distribute or manufacture the Neptune 3 Waste Management System. The Portland VA Medical Center is currently using an older version of the Neptune system and is looking to upgrade. BRAND NAME OR EQUAL Brand Name: Neptune 3 Waste Management System Manufacturer: Stryker Corporation Description - QTY -Neptune 3 Rover (120V) Qty 15 -Neptune 2 Docking Station (120V) Qty 4 -Smoke Evacuator ULPA Filter Qty 4 -Users/Maintenance Manuals 2 sets -Warranty minimum of 2 years on unit Salient Characteristics: The minimum requirements are as follows: -Unit must provide untethered mobility to provide extreme versatility in any procedure. -Constantly closed fluid system for staff protection hospital does not have to physically handle any surgical fluid waste products, eliminating exposure to infectious waste. -Closed cleaning system no need for hospital staff to physically clean any of the fluid storage containers, eliminating exposure to infectious waste. -Must have fluid suction noise levels of less than 5 sones. -Minimum suction range of 50-520mm Hg. -User friendly display that provides high suction audio alerts and manifold suction range indicator. -Integrated smoke evacuator with ULPA level filtration to provide surgical site smoke evacuation. -Mobile unit must have a large fluid storage capability, 20 liter minimum, to allow multiple procedure use before emptying. -Electronic fluid overfill protection with mechanical backup. -Integrated powered or non-powered IV pole. -Minimum capability of up to 8 lines of suction at once. -Minimum two year warranty -Operator/User/Maintenance/Service manuals Delivery Address: Department of Veterans Affairs VA Portland Health Care System 3710 SW US Veterans Hospital Rd Portland, OR 97239 The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339112 (size standard to be considered small business is 1,000 employees). Notice to Potential Offerors: All Offerors who provide goods or services to the United States Federal Government must be registered in the System Award Management (SAM located on the web at www.sam.gov). It is desirable that any Offeror to have completed their business Online Representations and Certifications Application in the System for Award Management (SAM). Additionally, all companies that are distributors must have a manufacturers letter stating that they are an authorized distributor or reseller to prevent any Gray Market warranty issues.
