- Please see the attachment for the full sources sought synopsis requirements. SSS is for market research purposes to determine avaiable sources/alternate sources for P/N 27-10486, Reed Relay. Other known part # is MRR1AD153. Relay, Reed, also referenced with federal logistics item name code 30544 - A relay consisting of an energizing coil and a metallic reed switch mechanism. The reeds serve as both core and contacts, which are not hinged or pivoted and which move by flexure when acted upon by a magnetic field induced by energization of the coil. it may also include a biasing magnet. the biasing magnet, either aids or opposes the movement of the reeds and the opening or closing of the contacts. The Air Force is in need of this part to maintain systems in the field until the replacement system is put into operation. The Air Force is willing to make a lifetime purchase of this part and cover the costs of qualifying to produce this part, tooling, labor, materials, and profit to have this batch of parts made. Industry is encouraged to propose what the minimum quantity is to make this part. The Air Force realizes this part is obsolete but is not authorized to replace it with another model. NOTE: This will not be a long-term partnership/production. The Air Force expects to manufacture enough parts to sustain the system until it is replaced. Seminal PAtent # is 2264746 granted 12/2/1941 but please not this is not form/fit/function to the required part.
