IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. RESPONSES IN ANY FORM ARE NOT OFFERS AND THE GOVERNMENT IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT AS A RESULT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO PAY FOR PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS TO THIS TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. INTRODUCTION This is a Request for Information/Sources Sought notice to solicit comments, questions and feedback from industry regarding the availability of American manufactured grooved stainless steel couplings. The USPFO for Kansas has an ongoing construction project which requires Rigid Grooved type fittings and couplings that shall be of Type 316 Stainless Steel conforming to ASTM A 351/A351M for foam concentrate piping for fire protection use.. Threaded fittings are not acceptable. The sizes of couplings required are 1-1/2 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inch. These couplings are designed for installation on Stainless Steel Schedule 10 and Schedule 40 pipe and fittings. It provides a rigid joint by firmly gripping along the circumference of the pipe grooves. It is capable of pressures of up to 600 psi. THIS RFI IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine potential and eligible vendors capable of providing American manufactured grooved stainless steel couplings as described above. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. ELIGIBILITY The PSC for this requirement is 4730; the NAICS is 331110 with a size standard of 1000 employees. All interested businesses are encouraged to respond. SUBMITTAL INFORMATION It is requested that interested businesses submit to the contracting office a brief capabilities statement package demonstrating ability to meet the requirements. This documentation must address, at a minimum, the following: 1. Company Name; Company Address; Cage Code, Company Business Size; and Point-of-Contact (POC) name, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address. 2. Statement regarding capability to provide the required American Manufactured Couplings. The capability statement package shall be sent by email to Contracting Officer, Karen Robben, karen.l.robben.civ@mail.mil. Submissions must be received at the office cited no later than 11:00.am. Central Standard Time on January 19, 2017.
