Description

United States (U.S.) Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), NB NDCP Vista Generation 2 The purpose of this Source Sought Notice is to search for qualified vendors capable of meeting the requirement to provide a new compact hosting design for the region 3 Vista hardware. The purchase will be used to augment, refresh and give greater capacity to the existing Region 2 and 3 VistA applications consolidating over 50 racks of hardware into 14. The Contractor shall deliver, install and configure proposed solution. Thru market research VA has identified NetApp and Cisco brand name products that can meet this requirement, however VA is open to other brand names that are equivalent and can meet VA s requirements. Specific hardware requirements and services are detailed in the attachments associated with this notice. The Contractor s implementation engineer shall provide guidance and assistance to the Government with deployment. The maintenance and support required by VA for the additional storage includes 24/7/365 telephone support and access to software patches and upgrades. Proposed solutions must account for the following constraints: (1) The existing Field Operations Region 2 and Region 3 VistA application storage infrastructure is currently based solely upon NetApp Fabric Attached Storage systems; and (2) Cisco networking hardware and Cisco UCS server technology. This is a request for information (RFI) only and shall not be considered an Invitation for Bids, Request for Quotations, or a Request for Proposal. Do not submit a proposal or quote. This market research is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Additionally, there is no obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services described in this RFI. You will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs that you incur in responding to this RFI. Any contract that might be awarded based on information received or derived from this market research will be the outcome of a competitive process. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI. If interested, please submit a Capabilities Statement, limited to five pages for your company, your teammates and or subcontractors, a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) expected for this effort, and denote the business size for North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 541519. As a part of your response, please address the following questions: 1. Describe the solution that your company offers and demonstrate how that product can meet VA s needs. 2. Indicate if you are a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, or Small Business. 3. List all scheduled contracts your company is currently performing on that this requirement would be within scope of (i.e. GSA FSS, NASA SEWP) Please note VA118-17-Q-1870 in the subject line of your response.
