Description
This is a market survey to locate potential sources to repair the AN/VAS-5A and AN/VAS-5B DVE. There is no solicitation at this time. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary. The Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred in responding or in any subsequent exchange of information. The AN/ VAS-5A and AN/VAS-5B are an uncooled thermal imaging systems developed for the use of drivers operating a multitude of Combat Vehicles (CV) and Tactical Wheeled Vehicles (TWV). The system consists of a sensor, a pan and tilt assembly, and display screen. The DVE is a top priority system of the US Army Armor Center and other Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) that supports a wide variety of vehicles within Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT), Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT), Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) and other Active Army and Army National Guard Units. The Repair contract requirements will be as follows: TABLE 1 NSN Description 5855-01-588-3763 TWV Sensor 5855-01-588-3771 CV Sensor 5855-01-525-1631 TWV Sensor 5855-01-525-1636 CV Sensor 5980-01-525-1688 Display Control Module 5855-01599-3102 Abrams CV Sensor 5995-01-600-4075 Abrams CV Sensor Cable Assem. 5340-01-599-2983 Abrams CV Sensor Mounting Bracket Suppliers capable of providing the repair services for the AN/VAS-5A and AN/VAS-5B must so indicate in writing to CERDEC PRD, ATTN: RDER-PRI-NR, 6006 Combat Drive, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. The potential vendors will prove they have the capability to repair DVE parts that manufactured by BAE and DRS. The responses must include documentation such as drawings, test results, or other technical information demonstrating that the suppliers can repair the above items. All proprietary and restricted information shall be clearly marked. The deadline for response is January 30, 2017. Respondents to this RFI must provide enough information to demonstrate their capabilities to perform any or all of these specific tasks. For more information, contact POC is this solicitation. Provide Contract Number, Point of Contact (POC), e-mail address, phone number, and a brief description of your direct support of the effort. 4) Describe the qualifications of your engineering staff, who have experience in the repair of an application similar in complexity and technology to repair contract requirements in table 1. 5) Describe your company's experience in identifying the test equipment for components similar in complexity and technology to what is used in DVE-FOS, specifically repair contract requirements in table 1. 6) Describe your company's experience in managing obsolescence issues. 7) Does your company maintain a Program and Assessment Tool to monitor and analyze the availability of components to allow clear and precise tracking of all obsolescence issues? If so, please elaborate on the Program and Assessment tool(s). 8) Describe your company's experience in identifying the alternatives for the unavailability of obsolete materials or components to mitigate obsolescence issues. 9) Discuss your company's capability in meeting US Government contracting delivery requirements. 10) Do you have product/s or keep products in stock? This Request for Information (RFI) is for planning and market research purposes only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information gathered from this announcement will be used to determine if responsible sources exist, and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for Small Business. Furthermore, the Government will use the information, in part, to determine the best acquisition strategy for a potential procurement action and to assist in making future acquisition strategy decisions. This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this RFI.
