- Sources Sought Notice for Bullet Tip ID Machine The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command (ACC) Joint Armaments Center (JA), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the US Army Armaments, Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), is conducting market research to identify potential companies who are capable of the following: • The Bullet Tip ID Machine shall be automated, have a hopper and a feeder with a min throughput rate of 30ppm and a preferred throughput rate of 60ppm. • The tip of the bullet is required to be colored in black with a minimum coverage of.30" from the tip and shall be distinguishable from other bullets. • Paint and cartridge hoppers shall be large enough to run consistently for one hour without refilling. • The paint/coating shall be able to be used on aluminum, steel, copper, tungsten carbide, titanium, and nickel. • It would be much value to ARDEC if the machine can be explosion proofed per the NFPA electrical hazard classification CLASS II DIVISION II GROUPS E, F, & G. Submission Information: Request interested parties provide the following information: 1) Capability and lead time to produce a Bullet Tip ID machine. 2) Description of facility and equipment where machine will be manufactured 3) Description of manufacturing and inspection process 4) Relevant current and previous contracts with the USG 5) DUNS Number and CAGE Code Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interests and capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, information pertaining to experience on previous projects, specific work previously performed or being performed, any in-house research and development effort, and any other specific and pertinent information as pertains to this particular area of procurement. All information is to be submitted via email (10MB limit) at no cost or obligation to the Government; information provided will not be returned. Responses shall also indicate the size of the business entity; large or small and provide your DUNS and CAGE Code. Please provide the name of your firm, address, POC, phone/fax number and email address. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email. Interested firms/companies are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data NO LATER THAN 24 February, 2017. Submittals and questions should be directed to the following point of contact: US Army Contracting Command - New Jersey, Attn. Paul E.
