- 81--Other Services Solicitation Number: 0010912345 Agency: Department of the Army Office: Army Contracting Command Location: ACC-APG-Natick Contracting Division Notice Type: Special Notice Posted Date: 26 January 2017 Archive Date: 26 January 2018 Classification Code: 81--Other Services NAICS Code: 811310--Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance The US Army Contracting Command APG, Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the US Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center, Combat Feeding Directorate, intends to award a firm fixed price contract under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) only one responsible source to Carl Zeiss Microscopy, Inc, 1 Zeiss Drive, Thornwood, NY, 10594-1939 for Extended service Zeiss LSM 710 confocal microscope for preventative maintenance and emergency service. The US Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center, Combat Feeding Directorate, intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Carl Zeiss Microscopy, Inc because Carl Zeiss is the original manufacturer of the Zeiss LSM 710 confocal microscope and Carl Zeiss is the only entity that provides extended warranty service agreements for the Zeiss LSM 710 confocal microscope. The specific requirements required for this current procurement are to: 1. Provide support and service to LSM 710 system covering the confocal, lasers, microscope, and all Zeiss accessories for parts, labor, and travel. 2. Perform scheduled and emergency services between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday excluding Carl Zeiss MicroImaging, Inc. holidays. 3. Cover all travel charges within the continental USA. 4. Provide one preventative maintenance inspection/cleaning/calibration per agreement year. 5. Provide full system coverage for repair 6. Applications support for researchers 7. Provide Software updates when available. 8. Provide Zeiss Authorized and Factory trained Service Technicians 9. All replacement parts must be Zeiss original equipment or Zeiss certified to meet original equipment specifications, third party replacement parts shall not be used This is not a Request for Quotes. No solicitation package is available. Any responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
