- Human Blood Products REQUEST FOR INFORMATION 1.0 Description 1.1 The Regional Health Contracting Office - Central is seeking information on how an interested contractor could support a requirement of Human blood products for the San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston, Texas. 1.2 THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), this RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Government's Point of Entry at Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. 2.0 Background The San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), Department of Pathology and Area Laboratory Services (DPALS) provides responsive, high quality laboratory testing in support of patient care using qualified professionals and state of the art methods and instrumentation. The DPALS Blood Services' mission is to collect, manufacture, store, and distribute quality blood products and tissue/bone allografts in support of direct patient care by: - Streamlining and standardizing operations to meet and exceed regulatory requirements - Implementing state of the art technology and equipment - Providing dependable, consistent, quality patient care and customer service SAMMC Blood Services is an important resource for both Physicians and all other healthcare providers, who rely on us for quality blood and blood products for use in traumas, STATs, and routine patient care. Our department continually works to provide the best blood and blood products our team can offer. Therefore, this RFI is in search of an entity that can provide the following FDA approved blood products and services on an as needed basis, and that can be delivered within an hour of ordering to the San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Responses shall be limited to 10 pages and submitted via e-mail to neal.hurst2.mil@mail.mil. Proprietary information, if any, should be minimized and MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The Government has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed herein, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought.
