Page 1 of 1 SOURCES SOUGHT: The VA Medical Center, Providence, RI has a requirement for Firm Fixed Price contract to provide professional Architect/Engineer Services for a complete design package for construction of a new Mental Health Building, Project Number 650-332 to include a 15,712 square foot (total gross square footage building). This is not a Request for Proposal; this is a Sources Sought document only. The purpose of this notice is to determine if there are qualified SDVOSBs or VOSBs that have the experience in A/E Services for a complete design to construct a new mental health building to be located on sloped land on the medical center campus within close proximity to other mental health and medical center services and if such businesses are interested in this procurement. The NAICS code is 541310 and the small business size standard is $7.5 million. Interested SDVOSB or VOSB firms should indicate their interest to the Contracting Officer not later than 15 calendar days from the date of this notice via email to Sandra.Mosca@va.gov. The following information is requested in response to this notice: Evidence of verification in Vet Biz as an SDVOSB or VOSB firm under NAICS code 541310. A positive statement of your intention to submit a qualifications package in response to this notice. Evidence of your experience in A/E Services for a complete design of a new building with a minimum of two (2) located at a medical facility (please provide contract descriptions, contract dollar amounts and telephone numbers for points of contact no photographs). The estimated magnitude of construction costs for this project ranges between $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00. Proof of professional liability insurance required to cover this project in the amount of at least $1 Million. Evidence your firms office is within a 200 mile radius of the Providence VA Medical Center located at 830 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI 02908. All information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on the availability of interested SDVOSB or VOSB concerns. Failure to submit all information requested will result in a contractor not being considered as an interested SDVOSB or VOSB concern. If adequate interest is not received from SDVOSB or VOSB concerns by 15 calendar days from the date of this notice, this action will not be set-aside for SDVOSB or VOSB firms. Interested firms may reply via e-mail to Sandra.Mosca@va.gov. Firms must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). Visit www.sam.gov to register in this database. SDVOSB or VOSB firms must be verified by the Center for Veteran Enterprises (CVE) under NAICS 541310. PROJECT INFORMATION: Provide professional Architect/Engineer Services for a new mental health building to include, but not limited to site investigations; analysis; design; preparation of specifications and drawings; preparations of cost estimates; construction period services; preparation of as-built record drawings; site visits during construction; safety, industrial hygiene, fire safety and environmental management (GEMS) services; and project management and inspection services. The new facility shall be designed to accommodate a new state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the current standards and the current future needs of the Providence VAMC s Veterans for outpatient mental health services. The Project will consist of a 15,712 square foot (total gross square footage building). The design will include preparing conceptual designs of at least 3 alternative floor plans and 3 alternative exterior building elevations for presentation and discussion with VAMC staff, revise one or more of the alternative floor plans and elevations to respond to VAMC staff comments until VAMC staff selects a preferred alternative. The A/E shall conduct surveys, perform investigations, meet with staff who will be working in the areas being renovated or built to ensure the new construction and renovations meet the space and other needs for the particular specialty, and prepare documentation of all existing conditions necessary for the design and construction of this project. This involves fully investigating exterior underground utilities through use of ground penetrating radar to locate depths and types of utilities for connections or for relocation.
