Description
This request for information/sources sought notice is for planning purposes ONLY. The results of this market research will assist in the re-evaluation of the acquisition strategy in accordance with recent VA Procurement Policy guidance. VA assumes no responsibility for any costs incurred associated with the preparation of responses submitted as a result of this notice. Veterans Health Affairs, Network Contracting Office 4, is issuing this request for information/sources sought notice in order to identify small businesses, and specifically, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) sources that have the resources and capabilities to provide Biomedical Technician temporary staff services for Philadelphia, PA VA Medical Center. Description of Work Contractor is to provide temporary staffing of two Biomedical Engineering Technicians at the Philadelphia, PA VA Medical Center for up to 1000 hours each (total of 2000 hours) or approximately six months. The Contractor candidates will provide preventative maintenance and repairs of general medical equipment using accepted repair practices while maintaining high standards of equipment. Preventative maintenance inspections shall be in accordance with manufacturers and Biomedical Engineering s standard procedures. The candidates will provide electrical safety inspections, obtain parts, record equipment inventory information and provide regular reports of job statuses via communications with in-house Biomedical Engineering Supervisory Staff. Daily work will involve coordination with Engineering and Clinical personnel as well as positive customer service to all areas of the medical center. Technical Requirements Contractor candidates must possess a minimum of an Associate s Degree, or equivalent (e.g. military training) as a Biomedical Engineering Technician and/or Electronics Technician. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of hospital/healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance. Candidates are required to complete and pass a background verification check. Interested & Capable Responses NCO 4 is seeking responses from small businesses, particularly service disabled veteran owned (SDVOSB) and veteran owned (VOSB), who are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the resources and capabilities necessary to provide these services. This is in accordance with the Supreme Court decision known as The Rule of Two. Please respond with: 1.
