Description
Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Biosense Webster (DUNS: 020163218), pursuant to FAR part 12, FAR part 13, and specifically FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The proposed sole source purchase order is for Biosense Webster brand Ablation Catheters, for delivery to the VA Richmond Medical Center (Hunter Holmes McGuire Medical Center) in Richmond, Virginia. The NAICS code for this contract action is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing, with a SBA Size Standard of 1,000 employees. The Product Service Code for this action is 6515, Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies. The Biosense Webster Ablation Catheters being procured under this action are used with an existing Biosense Webster Carto-Mapping system. The purpose of this proposed action is to restock the facility with an inventory item that has been in use, for the purpose of standardizing basic medical supplies. Reprocurement of this specific item, the Biosense Webster Ablation Catheter, is necessary to ensure continuity of patient care and to satisfy needs of medical staff. Award will be issued to Biosense Webster (DUNS: 020163218). There are no authorized distributors for this item. Market research was conducted by reviewing acquisition history and manufacturer websites. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Thursday, February 2, 2017, 05:00PM EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Daniel Spaulding, Contract Specialist, at daniel.spaulding@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
