Description

Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Geo-Med, LLC (DUNS: 166569850), pursuant to FAR part 12, FAR part 13, and specifically FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and VAAR 819.7007. The proposed sole source purchase order is for Johnson & Johnson Harmonic HD 1000i Shears, for delivery to the VA Richmond Medical Center (Hunter Holmes McGuire Medical Center) in Richmond, Virginia. The NAICS code for this contract action is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing, with a SBA Size Standard of 1,000 employees. The Product Service Code for this action is 6515, Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies. The Johnson & Johnson brand Harmonic Shears being procured under this action are used to cut patient tissue during various types of surgeries. This proposed contract action will serve to restock the facility with an inventory item that has been in regular use at the facility. Reprocurement of this specific item, the Harmonic HD 1000i Shear, is necessary to ensure continuity of patient care and to satisfy needs of medical staff for standardization of basic medical supplies. Award will be issued to Geo-Med, LLC (DUNS: 166569850), under the authority of VAAR 819.7007. Acquisition history and manufacturer websites were reviewed to identify an appropriate acquisition strategy. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Thursday, February 2, 2017, 05:00PM EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Daniel Spaulding, Contract Specialist, at daniel.spaulding@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
