- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing this Sources Sought Announcement for the concrete repairs at the Barre Falls Dam Spillway in Hubbardston, MA. This announcement is to determine interest, availability and capability of 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned and Small Business concerns for this project. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238110. The project is planned to be issued in or about May 2017. The project is expected to take approximately 2 to 3 months to make the necessary repairs. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. The Barre Falls Dam was constructed in 1958. This project will require the repair of spalling and joints on the over 20 foot tall vertical walls of the spillway in multiple locations totaling roughly 700 square feet in area. Another approximately 120 square feet of spalling and joint repair will be required on the horizontal portion of the 55 foot wide spillway. The spillway has no flow under most operating conditions and will be dry during this construction period. There is also a 10 foot extension to be installed to the existing two 6" scuppers under the bridge that passes over the spillway. This will likely need to be accessed from the bridge. An additional 20 square foot of concrete repairs will be required along the east wall of the roughly 12 foot wide intake structure. The location of the repair is about 10 feet above the anticipated water level and will likely require access from the top of the access structure. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, small business, etc.), a proof of bonding as well as what type of equipment would be utilized for this project. Please include at least two specific examples of the firm's experience performing the work requirements stated above. The projects must have been performed within the last five years. Please indicate the team subcontractor(s) (if any), including their prior experience and qualifications, which will be used to support the offeror's effort and their experience must also have been performed within the last five (5) years. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Responses are due by February 27, 2017. Responses should email responses to Elizabeth Glasgow at elizabeth.k.glasgow@usace.army.mil. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
