- BIG BEND NOXIOUS WEEDS SPRAYING The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, is seeking business sources, both Large and Small businesses that can provide noxious weed spraying on Lake Sharpe/Big Bend Project lands. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR MARKET RESEARCH ONLY. NO AWARD WILL BE MADE FROM THIS NOTICE. NO SOLICITATION OR ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME; THEREFORE DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF A SOLICITATION. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies and supervision necessary to accomplish herbicide application to control identified infestations of noxious weeds; primarily Musk Thistle (Carduus nutans), Canada Thistle (Cirsium arvense), Field Bindweed (Creeping Jenny), Saltcedar or Tamarisk (Tamarix ramosissma, Tamarix chinensis, Tamarix parviflora), Marijuana (Cannabis sativa), Leafy Spurge (Euphorbia esula), Kochia (Kochia scoparia) and other identified noxious weeds. The areas to be sprayed are all located on Big Bend Project, South Dakota, along the east side of Lakes Sharpe and Francis Case. Areas are located from approximately thirty-two miles below Oahe Dam (River Mile 1039) to ten miles below Big Bend Dam (River Mile 979). A bio-degradable marker dye is required with all sprayings/applications. The spraying shall be provided in two phases; a spring application and a fall application. The spraying shall be accomplished by use of ground spraying equipment only (4-wheel drive vehicle with spray boom, ORV with spray boom, or backpack spray unit). No fill or mix area will be provided by the government. The contractor shall be responsible for the cleanup of any spillage on or off government property. The contractor shall be responsible for meeting federal, state and local mixing requirements. All employees shall possess required licenses and certificates Only EPA registered chemicals approved for use in the State of South Dakota shall be applied Interested parties are requested to provide the information below in response to this synopsis.
