- This Notice of Intent to Sole Source is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available. Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(g), the Birmingham VA Medical Center intends to procure accreditation services by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer for the period of 1 March 2017 through 31 January 2018 on an other than full and open competition basis with the American College of Surgeons Inc., 633 N Saint Clair St. #2600, Chicago, IL 60611. This accreditation survey is a comprehensive evaluation of the entire scope, organization, and activity of our cancer program. The services to be acquired are that of one physician inspector from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The inspector will be on station the full day. The survey is scheduled to take place in April 2017. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Contract is firm fixed price and the NAICS Code is 813920. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service, to the Contracting Officer by 12:00PM EST on 13 February 2017. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information must be sent to the Connie Ganier, Contracting Specialist, NCO 7, Birmingham VA Medical Center via e-mail at Connie.ganier@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the contracting specialist will proceed with the sole source procurement with American College of Surgeons, Inc.
